W/D, Looks like someone is going to have to step in and help you make up your mind. From what I've read from you I would say that you are never going to be happy with a new bike. You aren't going to be happy with an old bike that someone else has rebuilt. Take into consideration the price of a bike that has been restored by someone else and thats too much money. I think in order for you to be happy you need to start looking for an old basket case that you can pay as you go and rebuild the thing the way you want it. That is just my opinion but considering what I've read from you that is a logical alternative. Let me know how this works out one way or the other. Good luck! John
